Abstract:
The largest scales of the Universe provide very useful information about the initial conditions of the Universe, as well as the nature of the mysterious dark energy. The current and next generation of large-area radio and optical surveys will provide new and complimentary measurements of the matter distribution on these scales. In this talk I will present the plans for the Square Kilometer Array, the largest radio telescope in the world, and scientific results using the precursor observatories of ASKAP and MWA. On the optical side, I will also present a measurement of the turnover scale in the matter power spectrum from eBOSS survey, and our plans to apply this to year 1 data from the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) survey.
