Abstract: Dwarf galaxies are crucial to constrain cosmological models, as they are the most dark matter dominated objects in the universe. They are located at the faint end of galaxy mass function and are thought to be the building blocks of larger structures. Due to their small size and low baryonic mass, they are intrinsically difficult to detect outside the Local Group. This is an open issue, because several tensions between observations of dwarf galaxies within the Local Group and our standard model of cosmology have been identified (e.g. Sales et al. 2021, Nature Astronomy) and comparison samples are needed. Recently, the abundance of dwarf galaxies is back on the plate as a tension. This time, not as missing, but as a too-many satellite problem. I will discuss the recent advancements on this topic.
